Yeah the plethora of 8k videos created today is staggering. Wireless and wired connective solutions for demanding pros. denverdonate - the only thing we get for good reviews is unfounded speculation about pay-offs in the comments. I get that, I would have done the same, but do not expect better results than R3. You don't need a dark cloth anymore, you can use something like a Hoodman loupe. But like the GFX100 at 10 grand, you have to be a little nuts to spend 5 grand on that little fixed lens Leica beauty. What's more, I believe the EVF on the A7RIV is worse than that of the A9/A7RIII, as it is laggy and looks more like a delayed TV screen image when looking through the viewfinder--at least that was my impression.

Transfer large uncompressed RAW images smoothly without workflow interruption. I think it is an important new feature which is worth mentioning. pageTracker._trackPageview(); Best gear of 2019 - winners and runners-up, Our favorite gear, rewarded: DPReview Awards 2019, $20 film camera - Dan Bracaglia and the Minolta Riva Zoom 90EX, Leica Q2 Monochrom sample gallery (DPReview TV), Field review: The Olympus M.Zuiko 12-100mm F4 IS Pro goes to Oz, Sony a7C review: Compact size, big sensor image quality, Review: The Autel EVO II is a solid drone and an alternative to DJI, The Sony ZV-1 is the best camera for vlogging, DPReview TV: Battle of the 70-200mm F2.8 zooms (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic), Adobe apps not officially supported on Apple's M1 chips using Rosetta 2, but native versions are coming, Apple's new ProRAW image format will capture 12-bit Raw DNG files, This DIY camera uses machine learning to tell you what it sees, Venus Optics' 100mm F2.8 Ultra Macro lens is now available with Pentax K mount, new stepless EF mount version also available, $20 film camera challenge: Minolta Riva Zoom 90EX - Dan Bracaglia, Documenting humanity's journey into space: Over 2,400 iconic space images are up for auction, New DJI Mavic Air 2 firmware update includes remote control compatibility with Mini 2, Canon brings its macOS EOS Webcam Utility out of beta and updates Windows version to 1.1, How Joe Biden's drone light show came together — and what it could mean for the industry, Google is killing off free unlimited storage in Google Photos next year, Photographer captures the highest resolution snowflake photos in the world, Help wanted: Google Photos wants your assistance in training its machine learning algorithms, Profoto's new $299 OCF Adapter makes it possible to mount OCF light modifiers to A-series speedlights, The Canon EOS R6 is the best camera for around $2000, Roger Cicala: the difference between sample variation and a 'bad copy' (Part 2), This $95 lens attachment turns the world around you into a globe using a little glass marble, Step aside, Intel: Apple shows off its first Macs powered by its new M1 chipset, Pergear releases $165 12mm F2 lens for APS-C mirrorless camera systems, Leica introduces 47 Megapixel Q2 Monochrom for $6000, DaVinci Resolve 17 announced, includes over 300 new features and improvements, Solarcan Colours promises easy tinted solargrams—from a soda can, Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium by HQ, Powerful yet easy-to-use AF tracking system, 10 fps burst shooting (JPEG or Compressed Raw from 12-bit readout), 4K video from full sensor width (sub-sampled) or oversampled from roughly-Super35 crops, 4 or 16-shot high resolution modes (up to 240MP images for static subjects), S-Log 2, S-Log 3 and 'HLG' video modes (8-bit only). hm.src = "https://hm.baidu.com/hm.js?ce70a1f49c2ca89b4b7f15662df921f2";

Thanks to an improved algorithm, the α7R IV now supports animal eye in addition to human eye tracking, allowing fast, precise, automatic detection and tracking.

Feels like a video game at first, how can it be so fast AND accurate? We didn't find many wizards or scarecrows, but we did see plenty of lizards and landscape scenes along the Australian coast. Congratulations. And with my A7, it's the most real time "AF" ever, without absolutely no need of changing AF settings. It looks like JavaScript is disabled in your browser. Until you drastically need all this new features in IV, previous model gonna be much better and affordable choice for those who seek higher resolution and fast performance in their work, imo. When you buy something you don't really need, you buy yourself a toy. Apply star ratings and image protection via the review playback display right on the spot.

I'm in too deep right now with my other gear.

So, my conclusion is that Sony is the only maker today with decent continuous video auto-focus as well as unlimited recording time. Watch our review to learn more about this versatile little camera. Faster 5 GHz Wi-Fi option is available for more shooting flexibility. I got to say I am impressed.

then I guess I was right in my first response. That stupid-looking statement of yours is yours to defend.

You are doing something wrong Ed if half the images are out of focus. But I agree a process for ensuring consistency would be beneficial.

It's just a retread of what we've seen many times before from Sony. With my old Sony I must shoot raw because the jpegs looks so crappy. Amazing landscape machine!

Never mind that Panasonic, Sigma, and Fuji came up with much more ambitious and innovative cameras in every way with the FP, the S1/S1R/S1H, and the GFX100.
What if your camera knew what it was looking at? I'm a 70-200mm F4 lens user in nikon realm but i'll think i skip it for this lens.
Real-time Eye AF represents the evolution of portrait shooting. In addition, you can switch between menu tabs using the front dial or Fn button with one hand. Yes, but what methodology to you use to compile pros and cons?

This AI-aided technology provides immediate, accurate eye detection and tracking for crisp, clear focus on the subject’s face, even when capturing a fast-moving model in a photo session. That could mean " Standard" as the standard setting for Batis 85mm (instead of Focus Priority...as I use on my 16-35GM), Agree,... which is kinda ironic, because the name of the setting is 'Focus Priority' ;-). @JPatrick: No need to thank me, i hope you learned something. Oh, that's right. The α7R IV captures the mood of each scene and the texture of subjects. A 5DII would have done just fine for you for less than half the money. I really do not get the haters here.

The newly added Save/Load Settings function allows you to save camera settings in SD memory card and read these from the card, for convenient sharing with other cameras as needed. However, I think your description, "thought out" vs "brute force" is not about the camera but the photographer.

However, it is not so cumbersome. I am having hard time going back to my beloved A9 even when shooting sports. You get the idea. @armandino & @jay-A Prove I haven't handled the cameras I'm talking about. I see the score for D850 is lower for focus accuracy than that for A7RIV. Enhanced sealing applied at more places minimizes dust and moisture entry, for more confident operation.

I also added the 1.4x TC for even more reach. Both SLOT 1 and SLOT 2 are compatible with UHS-I and UHS-II for fast mass-volume data writing. This alpha looks incredible as an all-rounder and pretty small too. People use continuous mode for action photography, generally at high ISOs.

Possible security issue though... Ironically this is the best Sony APS-C camera too. Depends on the starting ISO value for dual ISO sensors.

@thematic: actually I prefer my lightning speed Sony 256GB XQD G card I have for my Nikon D850, but unfortunately Sony decided not to upgrade the A7Riv with an XQD slot. I think you're just settling for whatever the camera or film is giving you. The A9II will likely be better than the A7RIV image-quality wise, as the A7RIV is perhaps the noisiest A7 series camera to date.

It may even get used behind the scenes to help produce our DPReview TV videos. Thanks Jack. The collection, 'Voyage to Another World: The Victor Martin-Malburet Photograph Collection', includes 700 lots and more than 2,400 separate items. It's a great lens !

Same goes for cropping. Looks new, less than 1200 photos taken :D. @IdM photography I would like to, but I barely had money for buying a6400 back in may, and now, due to some subjective and tech reasons wanna sell it and buy completely different camera. @JPatrickagreed landscape makes sense, even MF actually. Well, to each his own,... but for me, and I suspect for many others, I'd be an idiot to avoid using my Batis on the A7RIV. A vibration-free shutter maximizes the extremely high α7R IV resolution for crisp clear images.
